Our board of directors are a selected group of experienced professionals who provide strategic guidance, oversight, and decision-making for the organisation. By leveraging their expertise and diverse perspectives, they ensure the our growth, adherence to its mission, and long-term sustainability while safeguarding stakeholders' interests
Board Director
Carole has recently retired from her career as a solicitor, where her main area of practice included wills, estate planning, executries and Adults with Incapacity. A graduate of both Glasgow and Strathclyde universities, Carole spent her earlier career working for HM Revenue and Customs.
She previously served as member of the Children's Panel and is currently an active volunteer with Re-engage. She has only recently been appointed as board member of Bridging the Gap and is enthusiastic about playing an active role going forward.
Senior Marketing and Communication Executive
Kester Osahenye is a senior marketing and communication business, who started his career in journalism, brand management and now works in tech. He specializes in governance, corporate communication, organisational development, and strategic planning. This follows a twenty-year career, working in a range of senior management positions. He develops communication strategies with the objective of increasing brand awareness amongst the business’s target audience and to help increase market share and top-of-mind awareness. He has master’s degree from University of Strathclyde and other professional qualifications. Kester is a creative writer who has has previously served on the boards of voluntary organisations and professional bodies. His research interest is how technological innovation could be deployed for development.
He is also a creative writer, he attended writing residencies and fellowships in the US, France, UK, Germany, South Africa and France. He gained international reputation as a Poet and Writer, he contributed to many anthologies of poetry. Such the best-selling book “Veils, Halos & Shackles: International Poetry on the Oppression and Empowerment of Women”. Published 2015 in New York.
He has particular expertise in communication and enthusiasm for people engagement and has written articles and appeared on television speaking about topical issues. He would bring lots of these skillsets to Bridging The Gap.
Graduate in Social & Public Policy/Politics
I am deeply passionate about making a difference in the world, and through years of self-discovery and personal development, I have found my true calling. Life has been a rollercoaster of events, development, emotions and teaching moments. I am now happy to introduce the best version of myself, who is eager to make a tangible impact in the policy sector, particularly in the areas of education and mental health policy.
I am driven by the belief that thoughtful, well-crafted policies can transform lives and create a more equitable society. I am actively seeking opportunities where I can contribute my knowledge, experience, and passion to drive positive change and improve outcomes for communities. Becoming a member on the board of directors for Bridging the Gap Glasgow has been an immense privilege, where I can apply my skills and knowledge to support the charity to the best of my abilities.
Civil Servant
Scott McQueen is a young and enthusiastic civil servant working within the Scottish Government. Scott started his civil service career working with Disclosure Scotland, where he focused on helping employers make safer decisions when recruiting people. In 2018 he moved into central government where his primary focus is public body policy and public service reform. Scott has delivered various large scale projects across government and the wider public sector. He has a track record of working across boundaries in complex policy areas to deliver results.
Scott specialises in corporate governance and accountability where he has supported the Boards and Executive Teams of Scotland’s 131 public bodies. He is a strong empathetic leader with a focus on partnership working and empowering others to work collaboratively.
Scott is committed to public service and passionate about improving the lives of the less advantaged.
